How to Plan an International Screen Advertising Campaign

Coordinate country requirements, local creative, currencies, approvals and reporting without losing control.

An international campaign needs one consistent objective and room for local differences. Translation alone does not make a campaign ready for another market. Inventory, audience methods, technical formats, content rules and commercial arrangements can vary. Build a country-by-country campaign sheet before buying. This creates a shared operating view for the advertiser, creative team and each authorised screen operator.

Set the common brief

Define the audience, proposition, brand assets and intended outcome that should remain consistent across countries. Decide which elements can change locally. A clear central brief reduces accidental differences while allowing the message to work in its actual market. Assign a person responsible for resolving questions and approving final variations.

Build a local readiness checklist

For every market, confirm inventory, dates, timezone, currency, tax treatment, format and approval route. Review the advertisement’s claims and any sector-specific restrictions through an appropriate local source. A placement available in one country does not imply equivalent availability or permission elsewhere. Record current confirmation for each location.

Localise meaning and action

Use language that fits the audience and review prices, units, dates, contact details and destination pages. Make sure the business can serve the enquiries it attracts. Translating a headline while leaving the response form or sales team unprepared creates a broken journey. Give each approved variant a clear version name.

Keep reporting definitions consistent

Use a common report structure but retain local measurement definitions. Do not combine different audience estimates as if they were directly comparable. Separate delivery, cost, response and confirmed sales. Note exchange-rate assumptions when presenting totals in one currency, and preserve the original booking currency for reconciliation.

Frequently asked questions

Does a global marketplace mean every screen is instantly bookable?

No. Only inventory with a confirmed commercial arrangement and availability can be booked. A global discovery or enquiry capability should not be confused with a contract for every named screen.

Can I use one currency for reporting?

Yes, if the conversion method and date are clear. Keep original transaction values as well, especially when reconciling invoices or operator payments.

Put the plan into practice

Explore currently listed advertising screens, prepare an authorised screen listing, or organise your company workspace. Confirm the actual inventory, delivery and supported connections before committing to a campaign.
