The OnScreenNow model starts with the amount a screen operator wants to receive. The marketplace adds a margin equal to 10% of that operator amount on top. This distinction matters when comparing quotations or discussing a payout. It is not the same as deducting 10% from the customer’s total. Keep the pricing basis visible in the booking and separate any applicable taxes or other agreed charges.
Begin with the operator’s stated amount
The operator defines the net media amount for the specified delivery. That amount needs a unit: for example, a clearly described weekly booking. It should not be a price without an agreed schedule. The operator and marketplace should understand the same deliverable before the customer-facing amount is calculated.
Apply the ten-percent addition
For a hypothetical net amount of 100, the marketplace margin is 10 and the media amount presented before separately applicable items is 110. For a net amount of 250, the addition is 25 and the corresponding media amount is 275. These examples explain arithmetic only and are not prices for actual inventory.
Do not confuse markup with a cut of gross
Ten percent of an operator’s 100 is 10. Ten percent of a 110 customer amount would be 11. Those are different calculations. The agreed OnScreenNow structure uses the operator amount as the basis. A report should therefore preserve the operator amount, the marketplace addition and the relevant booking currency separately.
Keep payout and exceptions connected
The original booking amount should be recorded when the booking is made, rather than recalculated from a listing price edited later. Evidence approval, payment status, refunds and disputes can affect whether a payout is ready to release. Review those conditions before moving money. Provider processing or taxes should not be silently redefined as a different commission model.
Your practical checklist
- State the operator amount and delivery unit.
- Calculate the marketplace addition from that amount.
- Preserve the original booking values.
- Review evidence and payment conditions before payout.
Frequently asked questions
Does the operator lose ten percent of their requested price?
Under this model, the marketplace adds its 10% margin on top of the operator’s stated amount. The agreed operator amount remains the payout basis, subject to the booking’s applicable conditions.
Are the examples tax-inclusive?
They illustrate the media-price calculation only. The actual quotation and checkout should specify any applicable tax and other agreed charge correctly.
